HO CHI MINH CITY – The Horasis India Meeting kicked off today in Binh Duong New City near here, where global business leaders and thinkers converge to discuss pressing global issues.

Malaysia’s own Datuk (Dr) Vinod Sekhar is a co-chair of the event along with IT billionaire Kris Gopalakrishnan, who is chairman of Axilor Ventures, India and the co-founder of Infosys.

“The Horasis India meeting is an important one as for the first time since the pandemic, Indian business leaders and those from Southeast Asia are able to discuss more meaningful and sustainable growth strategies and solutions, and work together in the global economic and social challenges the world now faces,” said Vinod, who is chairman of PETRA Group.

The two billionaire philanthropists have been regular features at Horasis events, sharing their thoughts and experiences with other international key thought leaders on finding solutions to global issues.

The two-day Horasis India Meeting is co-hosted by Binh Duong Province and the Confederation of Indian Industry, and sponsored mainly by Becamex IDCI, Vietnam’s leading developer of industrial parks and townships.

It sees over 300 of the most senior members of the Horasis community come together to discuss India’s future.

Horasis India plans on exploring how the emerging power dynamic affecting China in Southeast Asia affects the region and its relationship with Indian business and politics.

Having the meeting in Vietnam is symbolic in discussing Vietnam as a hub for India’s expansion into Southeast Asia and the rest of Asia.

Founded in 2009 by Dr Frank Jurgen-Richter, Horasis India Meeting has become the foremost annual meeting for Indian business leaders to discuss sustainable growth strategies and tackle the most significant challenges facing both emerging economies.

Also representing PETRA Group is chief executive of the Good Capitalism Forum, Professor Graham Kendall, who also heads the Sekhar Institute; and celebrity restaurateur Roberto Guiati who is chief executive of PETRA Lifestyle.
